Super energetic twin tails are a whirlwind of joy, a symbol of uncontainable excitement that seems to defy gravity with every bounce. Drawing them requires a focus on asymmetry, exaggerated motion, and playful chaos. Begin by establishing a dynamic pose for your character—perhaps she's leaping, spinning, or simply tilting her head with vibrant expression. Now, forget symmetry. The energy comes from the tails being in different phases of movement. Draw the anchoring points high on the head, but then imagine the forces acting on each tail separately. One tail might be swinging forward and upward, as if she's just turned her head to that side. Use a large, sweeping "C" curve that starts at the head and arcs forward, maybe even crossing in front of the shoulder slightly. The other tail should react oppositely, swinging backward and perhaps outward in a complementary arc.
Next, build volume and texture. Don't draw the tails as smooth ropes. Use the "multi-clump" method: break each tail into 3-5 large, lumpy segments that follow the core curve. These segments can overlap and vary in size. The ends of the tails should be active—flicked out, curled under, or splayed open. The true "super energetic" secret lies in the ancillary lines. Draw numerous, short, sharp flyaway hairs escaping from all over: from the top of the head, the bases of the tails, and along the lengths of the tails themselves. These should shoot out in various directions, like a halo of static electricity. Add "speed lines" or subtle streaks around the tails to emphasize their motion. Consider the effect of accessories: ribbons tied at the base will stream wildly in the direction of the swing, amplifying the sense of movement. The hair on the head should also be lively, with the fringe (bangs) lifted or parted by the implied wind of motion. The final drawing should feel less like a styled hairdo and more like a joyful explosion, where the twin tails are the most visible manifestation of the character's boundless, energetic spirit.
